The Abandoned GIRL Who Never Gave Up – A Success Story

This success story is about a girl who fought through the challenges which she faced right from her young age, and how CHINAR Remote Child Sponsorship Program (RCSP) supported her through her journey.

She was a very young girl when her parents abandoned her due to their failed marriage and left her under the custody of her old grandparents. She grew up as a sulk young girl due to difficult childhood and had to work as a helper in the kitchen for a living. She was later married to a part-time labourer by her grandparents so that he could protect her after their lifetime. In a decade, they had four children including three daughters and one son. To support the big family, she continued her helper job as her husband’s earnings were insufficient. Also, the whole family was living in one room under the attic of their shop due to a property dispute.

Considering her circumstances, CHINAR Kashmir helped her two daughters and her son through RCSP for their education:
• Elder daughter has completed Master Degree in History from Kashmir University, Hazratbal and is now searching for a challenging job.
• Second daughter is pursuing MSc Mathematics at Kashmir University and taking tuition for children during free time.
• Third daughter has qualified medical technician exams and is waiting for counselling to get placement in a college. She is the only one who is not supported by RCSP.
• Son is in Eleventh class and is also underdoing Computer training in Sopore.

In spite of all the hardships, she managed to legally win the battle against her property after almost twenty years and also provided education to her children with the support of CHINAR RCSP. She is truly an inspiration for the way she had carried herself through difficult life situations.
