During the devastating floods of september 2014 our organisation was actively engaged in relief and rehabilitation work. In addition to providing immediate relief to hundreds of affected people in Srinagar and beyond we did extensive work in rebuilding homes in three different regions- Beighpora in Pulwama, Nayi Basti in Anantnag and Suthra shahi in Srinagar. In addition to assiting in the reconstruction of hundreds of homes we also provided hygiene kits, water fliters, sanitation blocks and medicines. We also assisted in livelihood generation for several families.
We have done extensive relief and rehabilitation work during the 2005 earthquake that hit the Uri area of J&K. We provided semi-permanent shelters and sanitation units to residents of two villages in Uri and skills-training to a group of women from the area. We also did some relief work focused on the children impacted by an avalanche in Waltengo in 2005.
