Giving Housing Assistance and Relief (GHAR)

Through our GHAR program, we assist these families by rebuilding or repairing their homes, ensuring they have a safe and dignified living space. This initiative began in September 2015 and continues to be a crucial part of our mission to restore hope and stability to those in need.

The devastating floods of September 2014 left countless homes and lives in ruins. Despite significant efforts by the government and NGOs like CHINAR Kashmir to provide home repair and rebuilding assistance, the sheer scale of the destruction means that full recovery will take years, if not decades. In addition to flood victims, many poor and destitute families still lack a proper roof over their heads. Some of those who do have houses live without the basic amenities needed for a dignified and safe home, especially in the harsh winters of Kashmir. Through our GHAR program we help such people by rebuilding or repairing their homes and providing them a safe and dignified living space.
