A Tribute to Teli Sahib

We at CHINAR Kashmir are heartbroken by the loss of our most beloved founding member and director, Er. Abdul Rashid Teli (Teli Sahib), whose contributions to CHINAR Kashmir were immeasurable. He was CHINAR Kashmir’s right arm, and his loss feels like an amputation, leaving us deeply wounded. His absence is profoundly painful, and his memory leaves a void that cannot be filled.

Words fail to capture the extraordinary essence of Teli Sahib. He was a great person, a devoted father, a loving husband, an affectionate friend, a kind neighbour, an exceptional engineer, an avid bibliophile, a caring naturalist, a devout Muslim, an inspiring leader, and a true philanthropist. The overwhelming outpouring of love, respect, and admiration from across the valley and beyond is a testament to the greatness of this noble man.

Teli Sahib had the unique gift of being both carefree and deeply considerate. He carried a childlike spirit, always enthusiastic, while remaining resolute in his commitment to doing the right thing. His determination was unshakable, and his dictionary had no place for hesitation or indifference. Whether it was providing assistance to those in need or taking on challenges where he could make a difference, his enthusiasm and kindness were infectious.

CHINAR Kashmir will never be the same without Teli Sahib. He leaves behind a legacy that will guide us for years to come. Words of gratitude cannot suffice for the life he lived and the impact he made.

Only if Kashmir had more individuals like Teli Sahib, it would symbolise the paradise it is meant to be. And as for the eternal paradise, we are confident that Teli Sahib has already found his rightful place there.
