Ramadhan – the holy month of fasting for the Muslims around the world is already here with promising blessings and felicitations. While most of the Muslims have already started making requisite arrangements for this special month, many however are still not privilged enough to buy a decent meal. Moreover, with the recent setback from the pandemic, there are many families living in and around Srinagar that are facing serious financial crisis. Their destitution won’t end simply because it is Ramadhan. And that’s why we need to support them.
Chinar Kashmir is happy to have started this year’s Ramadhan with the distribution of over 200 food-kits to the poor families living in Srinagar, its adjacent areas, as well as in far-off places like Kupwara and Uri. This was to ensure that these families are able to celebrate the month of Ramadan, as it should be, without worrying about the basic essentials.
Each food-kit distributed by Chinar Kashmir contains basic food items like: Salt-tea, Lipton-tea, Atta(Flour), Dates, Milk-powder, Sugar, Salt, Cooking oil, Sooji(Semolina) and Masala. Moreover each kit was complimented with an amount of Rs. 600/= for purchasing Rice (the staple diet) from the Public Distribution System. Each food-kit is worth Rs. 3,000.
The food-kit distribution was just another humble effort from Chinar Kashmir to welcome the holy month of Ramadhan by making sure everyone around us is able to celebrate this holy month in peace. We thank all our dear benefactors for their support and we entreat working together more towards the less fortunate in thos holy month of Ramadhan.
