On July 31, 2025, CHINAR Kashmir had the honor of welcoming Mr. Suhaib Salman, the Regional Director of the Indian Chapter of the Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access (IDIA) for Jammu and Kashmir, to an enriching session with the students of the Remote Child Sponsorship Program (RCSP) and CHINAR Home.
Mr. Salman delivered an insightful talk on “Law as a Career Option”. He highlighted the immense significance and dynamic scope of the legal profession in shaping society, drawing on real-life examples and his own experiences to illustrate the diverse opportunities available in the field.
Empowering Future Legal Leaders
Mr. Salman also shed light on the incredible work of IDIA, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating lawyers from within underprivileged and marginalized communities. He explained how IDIA identifies and nurtures talent, providing comprehensive support from aptitude tests and mentorship to intensive training for entrance exams like the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), a crucial step for gaining admission into premier law institutions, particularly the National Law Universities (NLUs).
The session was not just for the students but also for their parents who attended. It provided valuable insights into the legal profession and the pathways available through organizations like IDIA.
