We are thrilled to announce that CHINAR Kashmir, in a significant collaboration with the Kashmir Education Initiative (KEI), has officially launched a comprehensive 4-week course on Python programming.
The initiative kicked off today with an enthusiastic group of students from CHINAR Home, ranging from Class 8 to 12. This program is designed to bridge the digital gap and provide our youth with the high-demand technical skills necessary for the 21st-century job market.
Why Python?
Python is often referred to as the “language of the future.” It is widely praised for its:
- Simplicity: Its readable syntax makes it the perfect starting point for young learners.
- Versatility: From building websites to data science and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- Global Demand: It is one of the most sought-after skills by tech giants worldwide.
This partnership between CHINAR Kashmir and KEI represents a shared commitment to quality education and skill development in the region of Jammu and Kashmir. By focusing on students in the 8th to12th-grade bracket, the course aims to spark an early interest in Computer Science, turning passive consumers of technology into active creators.

During the first session today, the energy was palpable. Students were introduced to the basics of logic and coding, laying the groundwork for more complex projects they will tackle over the next month. The launch was closely overseen by leadership and industry experts to ensure a high standard of mentorship. Mrs Shazia Shafi, Programme Manager at CHINAR Kashmir, visited the session to encourage the students and emphasize the importance of digital literacy. Joining her was Mr Abdul Wajid Parray, a seasoned software professional associated with CHINAR Kashmir, who provided technical oversight and shared real-world insights into the software industry. Their presence ensured that the students not only started their coding journey with the right tools but also with a clear vision of the professional opportunities that lie ahead.
We look forward to seeing the innovative ideas these bright minds will bring to life. Stay tuned for updates on their progress.
