Exploring the Heritage: CHINAR Kashmir’s Cultural Tour of Old Srinagar City

Today, CHINAR Kashmir organized a captivating cultural tour of old Srinagar City, immersing the kids and staff in our beautiful region’s rich history and heritage.

The day commenced with a visit to historical landmarks such as the Jamia Masjid and Budshah Tomb. The kids, accompanied by our dedicated staff, soaked in the architectural marvels and the stories that echoed through the walls of these age-old structures.

One of the tour’s highlights was our visit to the Bait-ul-Meeras, also known as the House of Heritage. Nestled near the banks of the Jhelum in Old City’s Ali Kadal, this heritage site is managed by the HELP Foundation. The kids were not only spectators but actively engaged in three insightful workshops on Calligraphy, Paper Mache, and Theatre. These hands-on experiences allowed them to connect with the traditional arts of our region.

The day started with a warm Kehwa party at Bait-ul-Meeras, setting a festive tone for the cultural exploration. The three workshops that followed were educational and fostered creativity and self-expression.

With the assistance of Travelihood Tour and Travels, the Old City Tour seamlessly unfolded, providing our kids with a deeper understanding of Srinagar’s cultural roots. The journey continued with visits to the grand Jamia Masjid and the majestic Budshah Tomb, each holding its unique significance in our city’s history.

At CHINAR Kashmir, it’s not just about education; it’s about crafting experiences that shape young minds and create lasting memories. We’re grateful for the support of Bait-ul-Meeras, Help Foundation, Travelihood Tour and Travels in making this cultural exploration possible.
