Young Women Entrepreneurs – SEED Program

Through the SEED program, we at CHINAR Kashmir have provided vocational training for young women in various centres within Jammu and Kashmir in the past few years. This program has trained individuals to develop their designing, tailoring and sewing skills, and has created new beginnings in some of their lives.

In December 2019, we donated Sewing Machines to the 1st batch students from Meerna and helped them in setting up their own workshops. In order to ensure that they are running their tailoring business successfully, our team carried out inspections in their areas recently. During these inspections, we were happy to see that they were all able to earn using their sewing skills. Also, it has created a positive transformation in their lives and their families.

We at CHINAR Kashmir are always looking for opportunities to help the trained individuals to become successful entrepreneurs. To encourage more young women, we recently distributed Sewing Machines in Kupwara and Kishtwar district. We believe that we will continue to create such opportunities and support each other to empower our community.

Below are some of the young women who were benefited through the SEED program.
