One of the initiatives under this program is to provide vocational training for young women to develop their Designing, Tailoring and Sewing skills, thus enabling them and their families to earn and live a self-sustained life.  Also, as an encouragement, we provide free Sewing Machines and tools to the hardest working and dedicated young women, so that they can straightaway become entrepreneurs after completion of the training. Currently we run a six-month program, with 20 trainees per batch, aiming to create self-employment opportunities.

SEED program is initiated in areas where the target groups reside and who can actually benefited by this program.

Once a particular area is saturated with trained individuals, the centre is shifted to a new place where such facilities are unavailable for girls who are eager to undergo this program.

Some Success Stories from our SEED Program

Rebuilding a Family and Business
One of our trainees, a young woman, and her mother were abandoned by her father after his remarriage. She joined our SEED program, where we supported her with monthly expenses and helped her start her own business. She excelled in tailoring, mastering the skills taught in the program. Her dedication paid off, and she eventually led her father’s needlework shop, turning it into a booming business. Her success led to a reconciliation, and her father took them back into his family.
Overcoming Barriers with Skill
A girl who is deaf and mute enrolled at one of our SEED centers in Srinagar. Our trainer quickly identified her exceptional talent, especially in men’s wear. Recognizing her potential, the trainer devoted extra time to nurture her skills. Her determination and the support she received allowed her to thrive, and she has now started her independent work, specializing in men’s tailoring.
Collective Enterprise in Srinagar

A group of girls from Srinagar, after graduating from our SEED program, formed a collective. Utilizing the skills they learned, they established a small enterprise specializing in stitching readymade wear in bulk. Their initiative and teamwork have led to a growing business, providing them with a steady source of income and a platform to showcase their talents.
