On October 28, 2023, the grounds of CHINAR Home in Budgam resonated with laughter, joy, and unity as we celebrated our Annual Day. With over 100 participants, including donors, friends of CHINAR Kashmir, family members of our children, and beneficiaries from our various programs, it was a day filled with warmth and camaraderie.
The day’s highlight was the captivating performances by the children from CHINAR Home. From showcasing the much-loved Kashmiri Ladishah to other entertaining shows, their talent and enthusiasm lit up the stage. This year, we also took the opportunity to recognize and award certificates to some of our exceptional children, celebrating their hard work and achievements.
The event featured impactful speeches, with President Mr Nazir Qureshi, Secretary Mr Peerzada Mumtaz and Program Manager Mrs Shazia Shafi shedding light on the significant work of CHINAR Kashmir. Their words resonated with the audience, emphasizing the positive impact of our initiatives.
Senior Students from CHINAR Home and some from our RCSP (Remote Child Sponsorship Program) and STEP-UP (Scholarships, Training and Education Program for Undergraduates and Postgraduates) shared their personal experiences, providing a glimpse into the transformative journey they’ve embarked on with us.
The event commenced at 2 p.m. under the gentle, sunny skies of Budgam and concluded by 5 p.m. The perfect weather added to the overall charm of the day, creating an ideal backdrop for our celebration. After the event, a delightful treat of Kehwa was organized for all attendees, marking the perfect end to a day that showcased the spirit of CHINAR Kashmir—hope, unity, and the promise of a brighter future.
